Legitimate Interest Disclosure – Broadlab UK Limited
Broadlab UK Limited (“Broadlab”) is a registered vendor under the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) v2.2. This document outlines our approach to processing personal data under the legal basis of Legitimate Interest, in line with the TCF policy and technical specification.
TCF Vendor ID: 1448
Our Position on Legitimate Interest
Broadlab does not rely on Legitimate Interest for any of the standard advertising Purposes defined by the TCF. We process all such purposes under Consent only.
We rely on Legitimate Interest only for the following Special Purposes, as permitted under the TCF policy and technical specification:
- Special Purpose 1: Ensure security, prevent and detect fraud, and fix errors
- Special Purpose 2: Deliver and present advertising and content (non-personalised)
- Special Purpose 3: Save and communicate privacy choices
Why We Process Under Legitimate Interest
These Special Purposes are necessary for the basic functioning, security, and compliance of digital advertising systems. The processing involves minimal data, typically:
- IP addresses and device metadata for fraud detection and debugging (SP1)
- Basic delivery of non-personalised content (SP2)
- Storage and transmission of TCF consent signals (SP3)
We have concluded through internal assessments that this processing is proportionate, respects user rights, and is limited to what is strictly necessary. It does not involve profiling, targeting, or personalisation.
User Rights
Although these Special Purposes do not require consent, users still have the right to object to processing based on Legitimate Interest. This can be done via:
- The Consent Management Platform (CMP) present on the site or app where Broadlab’s technology is active
